After starting out with a shop in South Shields back in 1978, then going on to open a butchers shop in Fulwell, Sunderland – De Giorgio Butchers now operate from stores based in Whitburn and Cleadon, two idyllic bordering villages in North East England.
De Giorgio Butchers of Whitburn Village was the second store to be opened by Steven De Giorgio back in 1997. At the time Steven had the ‘The Village Pork Shop’ in Sea Road, and had recently purchased the Cleadon shop. In 2003, the operation was streamlined which saw the closure of the Fulwell shop and the main operation was moved to the Whitburn store where it still remains, at the same time the store was renamed to ‘De Giorgio’ Butchers.
This is our biggest store and where all of our manufacturing and baking takes place. We pride ourself if a 5 star food hygiene rating.
Our Whitburn shop is easily accessible from South Shields and Sunderland, we are just up the Road from Seaburn metro, situated in the centre or Whitburn Village.
